Netflix is turning the Vault Comics property Barbaric into a streaming series, and Deadline reports today that Michael Bay is in talks to direct with Patrick Stewart attached to star.
Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & the Six, Peaky Blinders) will also star and produce.
Deadline details, “Barbaric is described as Deadpool meets Game of Thrones for the way it mashes gonzo violence and humor, sources said. Set in a Medieval fantasy world, the series chronicles the journey of Owen (Claflin) – a barbarian cursed to do the right thing – and his talking (and horny) axe (voiced by Stewart) as they unite to take on a great evil.”
Sheldon Turner is writing the upcoming Netflix series.
Created by writer Michael Moreci and artist Nathan Gooden, Barbaric debuted in 2021.
