While you’re not quite Stretch in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, developer Team17 Digital aims to make it no less horrifying for players with their upcoming title Killer Frequency. The first-person adventure game is expected for release later this year on Steam.
Steeped in 80s goodness, you assume the role of a DJ at working the late shift at KFAM radio station in Gallows Creek, mid-west USA. You’ve just started your shift when someone calls in with a horrifying discovery. What follows sees you meeting with a variety of eccentric small-town personalities including potential victims and suspects as you try to help each of your callers survive the night.
Killer Frequency is bathed in 80s aesthetic, from the radio station’s cassette and record player, to the bevy of 80s-inspired music. And speaking of the radio station, you’ve got over 1 km² of an authentically-detailed radio station to explore, as well as dozens of interactable physics-based objects.
