If you’re hungry for more of Trepang Studios and Team17 Digital’s F.E.A.R.-inspired Trepang2 (and really, who isn’t?), you’ll have more to chew on next month with the release of the game’s “Bladekisser” DLC. Just as it sounds, the DLC adds swordplay to Trepang2‘s arsenal, as well as plenty of foes for you to carve up through new missions and areas.
Releasing on July 25, Bladekisser will feature 3 new weapons: a sword to slice and dice, a revolver, and a “mint machine gun” to obliterate your enemies. The DLC will also include 2 new side missions, 9 combat simulator maps, 3 HVTs and new intel.
If you’ve already sprung for the Trepang2 Season Pass, you’ll get Bladekisser when it releases next month. If you haven’t grabbed the Season Pass, Bladekisser will be available for $7.99.
And if for some reason you haven’t yet snagged Trepang2, read our review, then go plunk grab it. Right now Trepang2 is part of the Team 17 publisher sale on Steam, which has 40% off all editions of Trepang2, including the Deluxe and Banger Editions which feature the Season Pass.
Touted as a spiritual successor to the fast-paced, over-the-top first-person shooters of the mid-2000s (namely Monolith’s classic), Trepang2 “pairs high-octane, first-person gun-fu gameplay with a devastating heavy metal soundtrack”. Stepping into the boots of a newly enhanced super soldier broken out from a government black site, you’ll embark on a supernatural journey of death, destruction, and corporate conspiracies.
In addition to Steam, Trepang2 is also available on on PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
