On that note, Bloody Disgusting has joined forces with Horror4Kids for an exclusive interview with “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” creator D.J. MacHale, which was shared on the Horror4Kids Twitter account over the weekend. The interview features questions asked by Bloody Disgusting and Horror4Kids followers, and it’s spread across multiple video snippets.
MacHale, the creator of the original “Are You Afraid of the Dark” TV series from the 1990s, shares his experiences writing and filming classic episodes of the show, and he chats about everything from the show’s scariest installments to his personal favorite episodes and memories. For fans of the classic TV series, the interview is loaded with insights.
Outside of “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”, McHale also chats about his new book Beyond Midnight- Seven Peculiar Tales of Mystery, which is similarly aimed at a younger audience.
