After giving us a glimpse of the game back in March (not to mention an upcoming comic book prequel), developer Outerminds has unleashed the official trailer for the Turbo Kid video game adaptation. Not only that, but they’ve also announced the Kickstarter campaign for the video game.
While platforms have still to be announced, the Kickstarter will begin on August 20th. As for the game itself, the Metroidvania takes place after the conclusion of the film, where The Kid travels the wasteland in search of a friend.
According to Outerminds, the game will feature “sprawling and diverse environments, comically over the top gore, a heartwarming story, and cool BMX tricks, all wrapped up in a throwback package.”
Released in 2015, Turbo Kid the movie stars Munro Chambers, Michael Ironside, Laurence Leboeuf, Edwin Wright, Aaron Jeffery and Romano Orzari, and was directed by Anouk Whissell, François Simard and Yoann-Karl Whissell.
