As the title suggests, Konami has completed their slate of bringing 2D Castlevania games to modern audiences with the Castlevania Dominus Collection, which will be available today after a surprise reveal. The collection will be available for PC via Steam, as well as the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
This collection gathers all three Castlevania entries on the Nintendo DS into one collection – Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia –as well as tossing in the “classic” arcade title that is Haunted Castle.
Konami must have known that Haunted Castle doesn’t have the best reputation, As such, they’ve also included Haunted Castle Revisited, a redesigned version of the arcade game.
What’s interesting to note about this collection is that Konami has managed to recreate these DS games without having the gimmicks from the original DS. Namely, the dual screen, the stylus and the microphone. It remains to be seen how well they’ve recreated the experience, but hey, it beats having to drag out your DS, or paying through the nose for each of these titles.
The Castlevania Dominus Collection joins the previously-released Castlevania Anniversary Collection, Castlevania Advance Collection, and the PlayStation-exclusive Castlevania Requiem.
