Sam Raimi‘s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now available for rental and purchase on Digital outlets, ahead of the physical media release on July 26, 2022.
The Digital release comes packaged with bonus features on Vudu, Fandango’s video-on-demand streaming service. Extras available on Vudu include deleted scenes, audio commentary with director Sam Raimi, producer Richie Palmer and screenwriter Michael Waldron, bloopers and gag reel, plus three behind-the-scenes featurettes on “Constructing the Multiverse,” “Method to the Madness” and “Introducing America Chavez.”
To celebrate the at-home release of Raimi’s sequel, Vudu’s YouTube channel has debuted an exclusive deleted scene starring Bruce Campbell’s fan-favorite character, Pizza Poppa!
“Doctor Strange has not seen the last of the Pizza Poppa!” Campbell’s cameo character promises in the deleted scene, suggesting we could see more of him down the road.
Campbell makes a brief appearance as Pizza Poppa in the Doctor Strange sequel, who exists in another universe entirely. Strange takes hold of the Pizza Poppa’s mind and forces him to beat himself up for an extended period of time – Campbell’s self abuse a fun little callback to Evil Dead II from director Sam Raimi! – a hold that only breaks once the film’s post-credits scene comes around. That’s when the Pizza Poppa is finally free to carry on with his life.
But perhaps he hasn’t quite moved on, after all…
