The executive producer and star of documentary series “Hellier,” Greg Newkirk will be executive producing an upcoming cosmic horror feature titled The Buildout, BD has learned.
From writer/director Zeshaan Younas (Prefigured) and producer Trevor Dillon (The Vicious), The Buildout is currently being fan-funded over on Indiegogo, where it has surpassed its original $60,000 goal. The project is now unlocking stretch goals as donations continue to pour in, which means this is one Indiegogo movie project that is definitely happening.
Newkirk explains to BD, “The Buildout is a genre-bending cosmic horror film about two women who set out into the desert on their dirt bikes to work through the death of a relationship, only to discover that they aren’t alone. Something incomprehensible in the desert, not quite alive but not quite dead, has been summoned from beyond the depths of human consciousness.”
“I’m on as Executive Producer, which is handy because the film centers around the idea of egregores and thoughtforms, a topic I deal with on a regular basis as a full-time paranormal researcher,” Greg Newkirk adds, detailing his involvement. “I don’t know too many horror films about paranormal phenomena with an actual investigator EPing, which is pretty cool.”
Hannah Alline (Doom Patrol), Emily Bennett (Alone With You), Rhian Rees (Halloween 2018), Danielle Evon Ploeger (The Pale Door), and Nicholas Thurkettle (A Ghost Awaits) will star.
Head over to Indiegogo to learn more and donate to The Buildout‘s campaign.
