Fresh off David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future, which is now available at home, Léa Seydoux has joined the cast of Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune: Part Two, Deadline has announced.
Seydoux is currently in talks to play Lady Margot in next year’s sequel.
Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin will return for Dune: Part Two, which is once again set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve.
Florence Pugh, Austin Butler and Christopher Walken will also star.
Legendary and Warner Bros. will release Dune: Part Two on October 20, 2023.
Released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max last year, Dune opened to $41 million domestically, ending its run with $108 million domestically and $400 million worldwide.
A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.
