It’s Karen vs. a Death Cult in the new horror-comedy Cult Hero, which was selected for the Frontieres Fantasia/Marche du Film Buyer’s Showcase just last week.
The film hails from Jesse T. Cook, the director behind Monster Brawl, Septic Man, The Hexecutioners, The Hoard and Deadsight, and producer on Exit Humanity and Ejecta.
In Cult Hero…
“Manager-summoning control freak Kallie Jones (Liv Collins) teams up with washed-up cult buster Dale Domazar (Ry Barrett) to rescue her husband from the clutches of a cannibalistic death cult masquerading as a new-age wellness retreat.”
Tony Burgess and Jessica Vano also star in the film that’s nearing completion and will be unveiled at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival as part of the Frontieres Program’s Buyer’s Showcase. Kevin Revie (DeadSight) penned the screenplay.
Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive look at the Cult Hero art, designed by Matthew Therrien Illustration. On it, we get the first taste of the film’s electrifying cult. Infiltrate. Extract. De-program.
