The official teaser trailer for Terrifier 3 arrives just in time for San Diego Comic-Con this coming Wednesday, and we’re getting you ready for that with a series of reveals leading up to the trailer premiere. For starters, USA Today debuted four new images from the franchise’s third installment today, and they also published a new interview with director Damien Leone.
The chat with USA Today reveals that Terrifier 3 is set five years after the gruesome events of Terrifier 2, with Leone teasing an expansion of the mythology that connects final girl Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and slasher maniac Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton).
Leone tells the outlet this week, “Especially for Sienna, it hasn’t been an easy road [since Terrifier 2]. She’s been in and out of a mental health facility just dealing with all of this – not only just what she’s been through but what she’s becoming and what her role is in this universe.” On that note, the film will address Art’s connection to Sienna and her late father.
Art the Clown, meanwhile, “still has his eyes set on [Sienna and her brother Jonathan (Elliot Fullam)] with a lot of unfinished business.” As for the evil entity that seems to be ensuring that Art cannot be killed, Leone teases the upcoming Terrifier 3 will gives us fresh insight into “why it resurrected Art and what its intentions are and why it’s trying to target Sienna.”
Terrifier 3 opens exclusively in theaters nationwide on October 11, 2024.
In Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting’s Terrifier 3, Art is set to unleash another round of chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.
