After announcing last month that they’d be bringing The Dark Pictures universe to the PlayStation VR2 next year with Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, Supermassive Games has confirmed that Switchback VR will be a launch title for Sony’s new peripheral. As reported by Eurogamer, Switchback VR will launch on February 22nd, 2023, with an early bird $39.99 USD price tag.
In addition, Switchback VR also has a pre-order bonus available via the PlayStation Store. Those who purchase the title early for the aforementioned $39.99 will also snag a number of cosmetic items for the game, including the Demon Handgun, a premium skull and bones cart, a skull bobblehead, and a special edition gold gun.
Similar to Supermassive’s Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is an on-rails shooter that takes pieces from the first season of The Dark Pictures Anthology. Players will meet up with each entry’s antagonist, requiring them to make quick decisions in order to survive. Along the way, you’ll discover how your story connects with each of these worlds, and make sense of the nightmare. And thanks to the PSVR2’s new eye-tracking features and haptic feedback capabilities, players will be granted a more immersive experience than before.
The season finale of The Dark Pictures Anthology in The Devil in Me is currently out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
