The world of “The Walking Dead” will expand even further with the upcoming “Daryl Dixon,” a spinoff series about the title character (Norman Reedus) and his adventures in France.
Deadline reports today that Clémence Poésy (The Essex Serpent) and Adam Nagaitis (Chernobyl) have come on board in leading roles, starring alongside Norman Reedus.
Deadline details….
“Set after the series conclusion of TWD, the Reedus-led offshoot finds the zombie apocalypse fan favorite transported across the Atlantic to France and a whole new level of a world gone mad. Poesy will play the female lead Isabelle, a member of a progressive religious group, who joins forces with Daryl on a journey across France and finds herself confronting her dark past in Paris. Nagaitis protrays Quinn, a displaced Brit who has become powerful in post-apocalyptic Paris as a black marketeer and the owner of the Demimonde, a sexy underground nightclub.”
Franchise architect Scott M. Gimple teased (via Total Film), “Daryl is a fish out of water to start with. If Daryl finds himself with new people, he’s a fish out of water. In France, in a country that’s going through the apocalypse, [it’s] an entirely different thing.”
“He finds himself having to reinvent himself again, having to find himself again, and also, not being with – probably – the only people in the world he’s comfortable with,” Gimple continued.
David Zabel will serve as showrunner for the Daryl Dixon series.
