With the announcement that the Resident Evil 4 remake will be receiving “The Mercenaries” mode in a few weeks, the question of whether we’d be seeing “Separate Ways” or “Assignment: Ada” at some point is on fans’ minds. Well thanks to dataminers, there’s a good indication that we’d be seeing at least one of them.
Per the Resident Evil Central Twitter account, a dataminer named Gosetsu has discovered a folder within Resident Evil 4‘s game files named “The Another Order”, which is the Japanese name for “Separate Ways”. That’s in addition to files for the Chainsaw demo and “The Mercenaries” mode.
Now obviously, Capcom hasn’t mentioned anything yet regarding “Separate Ways”, but this is a pretty good indication that Capcom will be bringing the minigame to the remake in the future. Hopefully “Assignment: Ada” gets consideration along with it.
And really, why wouldn’t they? According to stats from SteamDB, Resident Evil 4 managed to amass over 140,000 concurrent players on its launch day, and even beat that the following day with 168,191 players. That beats out the previous record on Steam that was held by Resident Evil Village, which amassed 106,631 people.
Resident Evil 4 remake also currently ranks as the second best-selling game on Steam in the US, right behind Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (thanks, 80 Level).
In addition to Steam, Resident Evil 4 is out now on PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
Thanks to Gosetsu from the RE Wiki Discord, they managed to datamine Resident Evil 4 Remake and find evidence that "The Another Order", otherwise known as "Separate Ways" exists in the files.
