George A. Romero‘s Dawn of the Dead 3D was unleashed into theaters across the United States for the very first time over the weekend, and the theatrical run is now being extended!
Due to unprecedented ticket presales, George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead in 3-D has been extended to play at Regal Cinemas until November 10th. Tickets are on sale now.
The press release notes, “The movie is not available on any streaming platform anywhere. It isn’t on cable, and has been out-of-print on DVD and Blu-ray in the U.S. for over a decade. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the original, uncut 1979 US theatrical release version of Dawn of the Dead, lovingly and meticulously adapted to 3-D format under the frame-by-frame supervision of Dawn’s original producer, Richard P. Rubinstein.”
In the 1978 horror classic, “Following an ever-growing epidemic of zombies that have risen from the dead, two Philadelphia S.W.A.T. team members, a traffic reporter, and his television executive girlfriend seek refuge in a secluded shopping mall.”
Ken Foree, David Emge, Scott H. Reiniger, and Gaylen Ross star in Dawn of the Dead.
Romero’s sequel to Night of the Living Dead, the original Dawn of the Dead ended up becoming the second installment in a six-movie undead saga from the late master of zombie horror.
