Released in 2019, Bend Studio’s zombie game Days Gone is headed to the big screen, Deadline reports, with Sam Heughan (“Outlander”) currently “circling” the movie adaptation.
Sony PlayStation Productions is behind the Days Gone movie, which has Oscar-nominated scribe Sheldon Turner (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Up in the Air) writing.
Days Gone is “set in the Pacific Northwest after a devastating global pandemic.”
“The game chronicles former motorcycle club member, Deacon St. John, as he fights to survive against the forces of despair and mutated, predatory humans in his quest to find the long lost, presumed dead, love of his life.”
If he lands the role, Sam Heughan would play Deacon St. John.
Deadline also reports, “I hear Turner’s script will be a love ballad to motorcycle movies; the bike being Deacon’s sole form of transportation, his horse in this would-be, modern-day western.”
Vendetta Productions is producing with Sony PlayStation Productions.
Days Gone was conceived as “The Walking Dead meets Sons of Anarchy” in its initial pitch, making it ripe for adaptation. Stay tuned for more on the Days Gone movie as we learn it.
Sam Witwer voiced Deacon St. John in the Days Gone video game.
