As you may recall, Death Proof actress/stuntwoman Zoë Bell had put together a really fun YouTube video titled Boss Bitch Fight Challenge back in the early days of the pandemic, a clever video that brought together some of the most badass women in Hollywood for an epic fight, edited in such a way that it looked like they were battling each other from afar.
The video featured a laundry list of top talents, kicking off with Bell herself and including Lucy Lawless, Drew Barrymore, Juliette Lewis, Rosario Dawson, Cameron Diaz, Florence Pugh, Rosie Perez, Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson and Margot Robbie. It also featured a couple fun nods to Death Proof, and a tribute to Kill Bill that came courtesy of Daryl Hannah.
Over two years after the video debuted, Deadline reports that Boss Bitch Fight Challenge is now being turned into an action-comedy movie, with Zoë Bell directing for Lionsgate!
Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith (Legally Blonde, 10 Things I Hate About You, The House Bunny) and Mamrie Hart (Camp Takota, Dirty 30) are writing the script.
Producers include Rob Tapert and Romel Adam alongside Rock Shaink and Dash Aiken for Romark Entertainment, as well as Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Mamrie Hart.
“Zoë has built up a huge fan base over the years – which is no surprise, because she’s a bona fide icon who kicks ass and takes names in a part of the industry still dominated by men,” said Erin Westerman, president of production for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group “Her legend only grew with the ‘Boss Bitch’ video that everyone loved during quarantine. After a long and storied career of taking the hits, she’ll now be calling the shots.”
