Xbox fans will finally be able to get their hands on Bethesda and Arkane’s Deathloop next week, as the game will launch for the Xbox Series on September 20. Deathloop will also be arriving on the Xbox Game Pass the same day.
The title’s arrival on the Xbox coincides with Bethesda releasing the free “Goldenloop” update for existing platforms. The update introduces crossplay for PvP matchmaking across PSN, Xbox, Steam, Epic Games Store, as well as cross-saving and cross-purchasing across the Xbox and PC. The Goldenloop update also adds a new ability known as Fugue, a new energy-based rifle knowns as the HALPS Prototype, as well as a new enemy in the Paint-Bomber.
Also included in the update are four new upgrades for the Masquerade ability, as well as 19 new trinkets. Bethesda also teased that the update includes an extended ending for Deathloop, and “other surprises.”
In case you missed all the fuss about Deathloop (check out our review, by the way), the game centres around two rival assassins who are trapped in a mysterious timeloop on the island of Blackreef. As Colt, the only chance for escape is to end the cycle by assassinating eight key targets before the day resets. Learn from each cycle – try new paths, gather intel, and find new weapons and abilities.
