Those holding out for Berzerk Studio’s “Deux or Die” update for their Castlevania–esque sidescroller Infernax can rest easy, as the free update is available today. The update not only adds a new multiplayer mode to Infernax, but also an additional character with two unique movesets that are dependent on your playstyle. The update arrives with a new launch trailer spotlighting the added intensity an extra fighter brings to the sidescrolling sparrings with hell’s most fiendish beasts.
“Deux or Die” introduces simultaneous two-player action, or in a hot-swappable single player mode. The update also adds Cervul the Squire to the game as a new character. Sporting deadly talents in both axe throwing and tool-assisted combat, Cervul the Squire’s attacks and buffs grant advantages to either or both players. That is, unless you veer down the dark path. In that case, players will unlock an entirely different side of Cervul that includes the ability to launch explosive firepots, wield poison daggers and more.
Infernax: Deux or Die also incorporates co-op play in Infernax’s fan-favorite Contra-like gun mode. Unlocked via the classic “Konami” code (naturally), the title screen will now sport a familiar look for fans of Konami’s classic run ‘n gun. Of course, with the classic Contra look comes the classic Contra difficulty, so you’d better be ready.
Infernax: Deux or Die is available now on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam.
