As we get closer to the release of GSC Game World’s long-anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the developer has announced that we’ll be getting the first ever developer deep dive next month, which will give players “the most comprehensive look yet” into the game. Premiering in collaboration with Xbox on August 12, the deep dive will feature a variety of never-before-seen content, including interviews and behind the scenes looks into the development process, along with new footage and a full video walkthrough of one of the story quests.
Unfortunately, the announcement of the deep dive also comes on the back of another announcement of another delay for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.: Heart of Chornobyl. Originally set for a September 5 release, the open world FPS will now arrive on November 20th. The reason for the delay is to give the team time to address technical issues with the game, and to bring the final release “closer to the experience that the fans expect.”
The fourth entry in the cult favourite series, Heart of Chernobyl sees the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone having changed dramatically after the second massive explosion in 2006. Violent mutants, deadly anomalies, and warring factions have made the Zone a difficult to survive. Nevertheless, artifacts of unbelievable value have attracted many people called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, who have entered the Zone at their own risk striving to make a fortune out of it, or even to find the truth in the heart of Chernobyl.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be available for the Xbox Series, the Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
