Diablo IV fans will apparently have plenty of content in the years ahead. Ahead of the game’s second season arriving next month, Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson has seemingly let slip that Diablo IV will be seeing annual content expansions.
In an interview with Dexerto, when asked how long Diablo IV will be supported by Blizzard, Fergusson made reference to “annual expansions”. “That’s the thing we’re focused on. When you look at the launch of the game and this first season, we see that as building a foundation on which we can build for the future. So, as we look at our quarterly seasons, and we look at our annual expansions, those are the things that we’re really focused on for our live service.”
Fergusson continued, saying that Blizzard has plans and storylines “that go well into the future” for Diablo IV. “We’re always leapfrogging our seasons, and leapfrogging our expansions, so it’s something we are going to do for a long time. We’re excited.”
Keep in mind that none of what Fergusson has said has been officially announced by Blizzard, but that will obviously change once the next season rolls around after “Season of Blood” arrives on October 17th.
Diablo IV is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
