In case you missed it, Clapperheads released a few weeks back the single-player prologue for their upcoming first-person horror title Do You See Sparky? in Sparky Marky on itch.io. Today, the team has added the prologue to Steam.
Based on a similar premise to Do You See Sparky?, in the 30 minute prologue Sparky Marky, you take on the role of a young investigator exploring a children’s recreational camp looking to get to the bottom of the mystery of Sparky. In the process, you’ll have to solve puzzles and use gadgets to unlock clues that will help you solve the mystery. Of course, the titular Sparky is still lurking around, though you probably should keep your introductions brief with him.
And as before, as you find clues hidden in Sparky Marky, you can head over to the official Do You See Sparky? Discord channel and input the clues with the dedicated #susie-commands channel and uncover more mysteries.
This is all a prelude to the main game, where you and your friends are in an abandoned children’s camp. You have been marked by Sparky, a toy that has a unique monster hidden within it. You can’t see him, but your friends can. You can only communicate through in-game walkie-talkies and visual cues. With the goal to trap the Sparky toy and catch the monster, which could be one of 16 different types. To do this, you’ll need to explore a huge abandoned children’s camp, look for clues to identify the monster inside Sparky, and properly configure the protective terminal to deactivate it.
Sounds simple, but here’s where the deviousness of Do You See Sparky? comes in. You can pass Sparky’s mark onto another player by infecting items, the AmberOS apps, or use a marker-gun to pass it onto another player. If Sparky catches you, it’s not over. You can still spectate the game via security camera and either choose to help or hinder other players in their attempt to defeat Sparky.
Do You See Sparky? is coming to PC via Steam. Currently, no release date has been announced.
