Lin Shaye has become quite the horror icon over the years, leading the Insidious films and appearing in several others from 2001 Maniacs to The Grudge.
Next up she’s taking her talents to the small screen where she’s topping a new series in which she plays an 80-year-old badass who refuses to be bullied off her property.
Shaye is set to star in and exec-produce TV series action-thriller “Ellen”, which heralds from New Regency and QCode, writes Deadline.
“‘Ellen’ will follow a nefarious land developer who gets more than he bargained for when he tries to intimidate an 80-year-old widow into abandoning her Montana ranch.”
The six-episode series is being financed by The Revenant and The Beast Must Die outfit New Regency.
Here’s another exciting bit of news – the series will be directed and executive-produced by filmmaker duo Clif Prowse and Derek Lee, the duo behind the found-footage horror Afflicted.
Shaye also appeared in Ouija, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Critters, as well as There’s Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin.
