Black Salt Games and Team17 Digital are making it up to DREDGE fans for the wait over the second DLC “The Iron Rig”. After last year’s delay, the DLC will finally arrive on August 15th for PC and consoles, bringing with it a new storyline, new fish to catch, new boat upgrades and gadgets, and more. Not only that, but DREDGE is also getting a Collector’s Edition.
Following the launch of the first DLC with The Pale Reach last year, The Iron Rig will see players revisiting every area from the base game “with renewed purpose.” Intended to be started at any time, players will work with the Ironhaven Corporation and collect resources to build a formidable base of operations, unlocking new tiers of equipment, abilities, gadgets, and consumables.
As the drilling operation on the rig intensifies, something stirs in the primordial depths. A dark liquid begins to seep into familiar and once-safe areas of the game, transforming them into perilous zones. Players must carefully assess the impact of this mysterious substance on local fish species, unveiling peculiar specimens from the depths as they go about adding more than 50 new fish to the game’s encyclopaedia. The Iron Rig expansion adds a new tier of fishing equipment, as well as new characters to interact with, new hazards to overcome, and new world events and lore to uncover.
If that’s not enough, DREDGE will be getting a Collector’s Edition, which is up now for pre-order for a November release. The Collector’s Edition contains the base game and all DLCs, as well as exclusive artwork and a reversible inlay. Along with that, you get the following:
- a 10cm replica of the mysterious Sign of Ruin talisman
- double sided poster
- map printed on stonepaper
- a complete compendium of all fish and their aberrant variants
- a message in a bottle from Black Salt Games
- a metal doubloon coin all housed in a layered box featuring exclusive artwork
For those who are still on the fence (you should give Harrison’s review a read to convince you), a Complete Edition of DREDGE will also be available digitally on August 15 on all platforms, containing all content from Blackstone Key, The Pale Reach, and The Iron Rig.
DREDGE is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
