‘Dune: Part Two’ – First Images Reveal Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan

The hotly anticipated sequel Dune: Part Two will arrive in theaters on November 3, 2023, and this morning Vanity Fair has an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming film.

Returning director Denis Villeneuve tells Vanity Fair that Part Two is a “war epic action movie,” while also noting that it’s not a sequel but rather a true “second part.”

He explains to the outlet, “It’s important—it’s not a sequel, it’s a second part. There’s a difference. I wanted the movie to really open just where we left the characters. There’s no time jump. I wanted dramatic continuity with part one.”

Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin will return for Dune: Part Two, which is once again directed by Denis Villeneuve (Dune).

Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, Austin Butler, Tim Blake Nelson and Christopher Walken also star in Dune: Part Two, making for one hell of an ensemble cast.

Released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max in 2021, Dune opened to $41 million domestically, ending its run with $108 million domestically and $400 million worldwide.
