“Hannibal” creator Bryan Fuller and star Mads Mikkelsen are reteaming for Entertainment One and Thunder Road’s horror movie Dust Bunny, and Collider reports that actor David Dastmalchian has joined the cast.
Dust Bunny will tell the story of an eight-year-old girl who enlists the help of her intriguing neighbor to kill the monster under her bed that she believes ate her family.
Dastmalchian, fresh off of 2023 horror films The Last Voyage of the Demeter and The Boogeyman, joins Mikkelsen and Sigourney Weaver on Dust Bunny. The actor also stars in the upcoming supernatural horror film Late Night with the Devil.
No word at this time on who Mikkelsen, Weaver, and Dastmalchian will be playing in Dust Bunny, though.
The film is being described as a “throwback to the family horror films of the 80s.” The film also marks the feature directorial debut by Fuller. Entertainment One and Thunder Road will co-produce with Fuller, who is writing, directing and producing alongside Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee.
“We have been huge fans of Bryan’s for years,” said Thunder Road’s Lee. “Dust Bunny is incredibly inventive and unlike anything in the marketplace.”
Photography began on Dust Bunny in July, where Fuller tweeted from set “Back in the saddle with this guy,” sharing a photo of he and “Hannibal” star Mads Mikkelsen.
In addition to creating NBC’s “Hannibal,” Bryan Fuller also created the shows “Dead Like Me” and “Pushing Daisies,” and he’s currently working on A24’s “Crystal Lake” TV series.
Stay tuned for additional details on Dust Bunny as they arrive.
