Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive look at the art for Herd, a new zombie horror film shooting this April under the direction of Steven Pierce.
Ellen Adair (Trick, The Sinner) is set to star in the upcoming horror indie co-written by Pierce and James Allerdyce.
The film tells the story of a woman who ends up trapped between a zombie outbreak and warring militias as she tries to outrun her past. Adair plays Jamie Miller, a young woman stranded near the hometown she vowed never to return to when the unexpected occurs.
Fans will recognize Adair as Sheriff Lisa Jayne in 2019’s Trick, or as Bess McTeer in Season 2 of “The Sinner”. She has also recurred on shows including “Homeland”, “Bull”, “Billions” and “The Slap”, and has made guest appearances on “Archive 81”, “NCIS: New Orleans”, “The Good Fight” and “Chicago Fire”.
Mitzi Akaha (Nickson Fong’s Bashira) will also star as Alex, a fiery free spirit who must depend on Jamie when she suddenly finds herself in dangerous and unfamiliar territory.
Adair and Akaha join Jeremy Holm (House of Cards), Timothy V. Murphy (Snowpiercer),
Corbin Bernsen (City on a Hill), Amanda Fuller (Orange Is the New Black), Dana Snyder (Aqua Team Hunger Force), Jeremy Lawson (Walker) and Broadway’s Brandon James Ellis.
Herd is produced by Pierce, Allerdyce, Lori Kay, Matt Mundy and Bret Carr, with casting by Eisenberg/Beans. Previously, Pierce helmed the Nigel Barker series Top Photographer and is a four-time collaborative Emmy winner for his work on Saturday Night Live.
