Director Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise is already profitable at the box office after just two weeks, and in fact the film is VERY CLOSE to defeating the box office total of Evil Dead (2013).
Worldwide, Evil Dead Rise has scared up $86.5 million at the box office as of this writing, with $44.4 million of that worldwide total made here in the United States so far.
For the sake of comparison, Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead ended its domestic run with $54 million back in 2013, and the film’s worldwide total hit an impressive $97.5 million.
It won’t be long before Evil Dead Rise surpasses the previous installment at the worldwide box office, and with a budget of just $19 million, this one is already a massive success.
When Evil Dead wins, we get more Evil Dead. It’s as simple as that. So get out there and support Evil Dead Rise in theaters. We promise it’s a franchise-faithful bloodbath of terror.
Meagan Navarro writes in her Evil Dead Rise review for BD, “Evil Dead Rise is an absolute crowd pleaser that’s best enjoyed with a rowdy crowd of fellow fans.”
