It seems that it’ll be a while before Bethesda reveals anything more regarding Redfall or Starfield, which were pushed back to a 2023 release earlier this year. It also seems that Bethesda is loading 2023 up to be a big year, as the publisher has has announced that Fallout 4 will be getting a current-gen upgrade for consoles in 2023, as well.
Finishing up their celebration of the 25th anniversary of Fallout, Bethesda revealed that Fallout 4 will be receiving a free current-gen upgrade for PlayStation and Xbox, while the PC version will receive a “next-gen update”. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions will be available as a free upgrade for existing owners on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
New current-gen elements for the game will include performance mode features for high framerates, 4K resolution gameplay and bonus Creation Club content.
Bethesda also took the opportunity to announce Fallout 76‘s Spooky Scorched Halloween event. Available now until November 18th, players can battle the costumed enemies taking over Fallout 76, while also finding some quality in-game treats for your trouble. You can also trick-or-treat with your Appalachian neighbours.
In addition, the Fallout 25th anniversary celebration continues in Fallout 76, where each day from October 25 to November 8, players can visit the Atomic Shop for a free daily item. These free goodies range from handy consumables to brand-new items.
Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 are available for PC, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
