A long time ago, it was announced that cult classic PS1 title Fear Effect would be getting a remake in Fear Effect Reinvented. However, apart from some screenshots, that project hasn’t had much to talk about. That was until publisher Megapixel Studio and developer Forever Entertainment released a new teaser trailer for the game, teasing that we’ll be seeing the game “sooner than you think”.
Fear Effect Reinvented aims to stay true to the 2000 original, with updated gameplay, graphics, and controls. As in the original, players can play as three different mercenaries – Hana Tsu-Vachel, Royce Glas or Jacob “Deke” DeCourt – as they try to find Wee Ming, the missing daughter of a Hong Kong Triad boss. Only this time, the story has been expanded into three separate campaigns.
Fear Effect Reinvented will still maintain the original game’s Survival Horror aspects, while also employing cover-based combat and a third-person perspective camera, both of which you’ll see in the trailer. It’s also teased that we’ll be getting additional content in the form of a gallery, though it’s not clear just what that exactly means.
No platforms or release dates have been confirmed for Fear Effect Reinvented as of yet.
Big thanks to RelyOnHorror for the heads up.
