“Stranger Things” and Ghostbusters: Afterlife star Finn Wolfhard had recently teased that he was developing a “horror-comedy slasher movie,” and Variety updates on the project this afternoon with the announcement that the film is now titled Hell of a Summer.
Wolfhard will be writing and directing alongside Billy Bryk (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), with both actors also starring in the film. The cast also includes Fred Hechinger (Fear Street 1994).
Plot details, at this time, are completely under wraps. Stay tuned.
Variety reports, “Fred Hechinger, Aggregate Films’ Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan, and Parts and Labor’s Jay Van Hoy will produce the film, with principal photography beginning this month in Ontario, Canada.”
“I am so excited to be co-directing my first feature film,” Finn Wolfhard said in a statement today. “I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with a company like 30West and Aggregate is a real dream.”
