Turtle Rock Studios had revealed their postlaunch roadmap for Back 4 Blood a few months back, and now they’ve revealed more info for the game’s first DLC expansion in “Tunnels of Terror”. Also, the DLC now has a release date of April 12 for PC and consoles.
Not only that, but publisher Warner Bros has announced that Back 4 Blood has now surpassed over 10 million players across PC and consoles.
So, what’s in the expansion? For starters, the expansion will feature the new Ridden Hives PvE coop option, where players will explore seven different dungeons full of labyrinthine tunnels below the depths of Evansburgh. These tunnels are home to a new Ridden type known as Warped Ridden. You’ll have to out-manoeuvrer and overcome the Warped Ridden in order to claim the goodies, but you’ll also be dealing with Urchins, Shredders, and Rippers. The new Warped Ridden variants are also playable in PvP Swarm mode.
Also in the expansion are two new Cleaners – Sharice, an axe-wielding firefighter, and Heng, a restaurateur. The pack also includes eight exclusive character skins, seven new legendary weapons, 12 new weapon skins, new cards, and more.
If that’s not enough, the Tunnel of Terror’s release will coincide with the release of the “No Hope” difficulty setting, a free update adding an extra level of challenge for elite players. All playable content included in the Tunnels of Terror expansion will be accessible by all players in a party as long as one player in that party has purchased the expansion.
The Tunnels of Terror expansion is available separately, or as part of the Back 4 Blood: Ultimate Edition, Back 4 Blood: Deluxe Edition, or the Back 4 Blood Annual Pass. Back 4 Blood is available now for the Xbox Series, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
