Wales Interactive has nailed down the release date for Sker Ritual. Keeping to their original target for Halloween, Sker Ritual will arrive in Steam Early Access on October 13 with its first episodic content priced at $14.99 USD. On top of that, the devs have revealed their Early Access roadmap, with the plan to fully launch on PC and consoles in Q2 2023.
According to the press release, each Episode of Sker Ritual released to Early Access will bring a new map update, with the “added bonus” of some Sker story that follows on from the events of the previous entry, Maid of Sker. The game will not feature a separate Story Mode, however, and according to Wales Interactive, is not a replacement for a [hypothetical] Maid of Sker 2. “Each Episode will add tons of new content including new maps, Elites, Bosses, objectives, trials, easter eggs and weapons. Plus you’ll get major gameplay updates on the Miracles system, an in-game communication system and so much more.”
The first Episode to be released next month is entitled “The Cursed Lands of Lavernock”, with the next Episode arriving in December, called “The Ashes of Sker Hotel”. February 2023 will bring the Episode “Sewers of the Dead”, while the last Episode, “Deadly Lover’s Fortress”, arrives in April.
On launch of the first Episode, players will be able to use the Sker Pass, a “completely free cosmetic reward system with absolutely no premium pass option”. The Sker Pass will launch with 50 free items, with each Episode update offering 25 new items to unlock. For those who love cosmetics, additional DLC bundles of themed cosmetic items will be available to purchase on the Steam store for $3.99.
