We learned late Friday night that a new take on The Crow is finally coming to life, with Bill Skarsgård (IT) leading the cast as Eric Draven and singer/actor FKA Twigs co-starring.
Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell) is directing the “modern reimagining” of James O’Barr’s comic, with Zach Baylin (King Richard) writing.
As a little update on the project, The Hollywood Reporter notes this afternoon that Grammy-nominated singer FKA Twigs (Honey Boy) will be the co-lead of the new Crow movie.
Borys Kit reports, “Twigs is playing the girlfriend/fiancée [of Eric Draven]. The role was not significant in the original movie but sources say that in this re-imagining, the part has been re-conceived into a co-lead. It is unclear if the character never quite dies, perhaps returns in some supernatural form, or may even be a representation of the crow itself.”
In the 1994 movie starring the late Brandon Lee, Eric Draven’s fiancée is killed alongside Draven, setting the film’s revenge storyline into motion. Sofia Shinas played the character.
