Survive nature. Survive monsters. Survive each other.
The creators of the popular slasher board game, Mixtape Massacre, are back with a brand new horror experience, with the aquatic horror-themed FLOAT: From the Deep, just in time for your holiday wishlists.
In the board game, “When a mysterious explosion sends a cruise ship sinking to the bottom of the sea, five groups of survivors band together in lifeboats and set sail in search of land.”
“But what seemed like an easy expedition quickly goes south with food and water shortages, treacherous storms, and desperation taking over. Worse yet, the creatures from below are beginning to surface… and feed.”
FLOAT: From the Deep is a fast-paced tabletop game from Bright Light, where 2 – 5 players find themselves lost at sea, battling ferocious creatures from below and attempting to outsmart and outlast their fellow players. With only seven days to make it to the island in the foggy distance, its sink, swim or be devoured by the next monster from the deep.
Players take on the role of leaders of five small groups of survivors. Manage your rations and your team, and fight off the creatures from the deep as you try to make it through rough waters in hopes of finding land.
The game’s creator, Freddie Carlini, previously said of the anxiety-inducing gameplay in an interview, “I think anxiety is important. That feeling of, like, what is below us? What’s to come? I also think, be it in FLOAT or with Mixtape, we like to play on tropes from horror films. I think we all love as a team the idea in horror movies and survival films, that as the situation and film progresses, the people also become the monsters, so we give players certain cards and choices to betray and hurt those around them, or afflictions, that makes them dangerous to their crew.”
The aquatic horror game is a new stand alone board game that’s separate from the cult-favorite Mixtape Massacre, created by the Bright Light team in 2015.
