Four New Horror Shows Premiere This Week Including “Chucky” Season 2!

This first full week of October is a huge week for new horror, with 13 brand new horror movies arriving in theaters and on streaming. And the small screen is loaded with fresh horror, too.

One of horror’s most beloved slasher franchise icons makes his grand return to the small screen, for starters, while three brand new shows will be debuting this week as well.

Here’s all the new Horror TV arriving October 5 – October 9, 2022!

Chucky Season 2 premiere

First up, “Chucky” Season 2 premieres on both SYFY and USA tonight, October 5, and the brand new season kicks off with a special Halloween-themed episode titled “Halloween II.”

“Chucky” is a continuation of the iconic film franchise chronicling the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll. In the TV series, Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies and new prey, as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes. After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy.

Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly will both be back for “Chucky” Season 2, with returning cast also including Zackary Arthur as Jake Wheeler, Björgvin Arnarson as Devon Evans, Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy Cross, Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, Christine Elise as Kyle and Barbara Alyn Woods as Mayor Michelle Cross.

Meg Tilly (Psycho 2, Body Snatchers), Gina Gershon (Bound, Killer Joe), Joe Pantoliano (Memento)Tony Nappo (Saw II), and Sutton Stracke (“Real Housewives”) also star.

And Lachlan Watson (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) will be playing Glen/Glenda!

A new adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel, which became Swedish movie Let the Right One In in 2008 and then American remake Let Me In a couple years later, Showtime‘s “Let the Right One In” will begin streaming in time for Halloween on Friday, October 7.

Showtime will debut “Let the Right One In” on streaming and on demand for all Showtime subscribers on October 7, before making its on-air debut on October 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Led by Oscar® nominee Demián Bichir (A Better Life), the 10-episode series from Tomorrow Studios (Snowpiercer) also stars Tony winner Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls, Power), Grace Gummer (Mr. Robot), Madison Taylor Baez (Selena: The Series), Kevin Carroll (Snowfall), Ian Foreman (Merry Wish-Mas)Jacob Buster (Colony) and Nick Stahl (Fear the Walking Dead).

Inspired by the original hit Swedish novel and film, the series centers on Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose lives were changed 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.

With these emotionally charged and terrifying ingredients as a starting point, “Let the Right One In” will upend genre expectations, turning a naturalistic lens on human frailty, strength and compassion.

The series is executive produced by award-winning playwright, writer and producer Andrew Hinderaker (Away, PENNY DREADFUL) who also serves as showrunner. Seith Mann (HOMELAND, #FreeRayshawnRaising Dion) is also an executive producer and directed the pilot, as well as multiple episodes. Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements are executive producers for Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partnership). Alissa Bachner is co-executive producing, and Bichir serves as a producer on the series.

Netflix and Mike Flanagan (“The Haunting of Hill House,” “Midnight Mass”) introduce “The Midnight Club” this Halloween, a series adaptation of Christopher Pike‘s 1994 novel that will also adapt other Pike stories. The series premieres on Friday, October 7th.

In the series…

“At a manor with a mysterious history, the 8 members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories – and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond.”

The cast includes for Mike Flanagan’s series includes Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Cymone, William Chris Sumpter, Adia, Aya Furukawa, Sauriyan Sapkota, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan, with Zach Gilford and Heather Langenkamp.

Created and written by Ryan J. Brown, the horror-comedy “Wreck” is coming this week from BBC Three, a slasher set aboard a cruise ship. The series will launch exclusively on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on October 9, and you can watch the teaser trailer below.

“She was working aboard the same vessel on a previous tour and vanished mid charter. Jamie is initiated into cruise life and gets a crash course on the tribes within the staff: the theatre kids, the mafias and the low-paid workers. For this overworked and underpaid crew, life below deck can be an odyssey of partying and excess… and they remain oblivious to the bloodthirsty murders taking place on board. Jamie is forced to turn detective and uncover the sinister truth.”

The cast includes Oscar Kennedy (“Ladhood”) as Jamie, Thaddea Graham (“The Irregulars”) as Vivian, Jack Rowan (“Noughts + Crosses”) as Danny, Harriet Webb (“I May Destroy You”) as Karen, Jodie Tyack (“The Window”) as Pippa, Louis Boyer as Sam, Anthony Rickman as Olly, Amber Grappy as Lauren, Diego Andres as Jerome, Peter Claffey as Cormac, Miya Ocego as Rosie, Warren James Dunning as Beaker, Ramanique Ahluwalia as Lily and Alice Nokes as Sophia.
