French ‘The Last of Us’ Fan Film “All Gone” Coming September 24th [Trailer]

With Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part I being released a few weeks back, and the upcoming HBO adaptation expected next year, it seems only convenient that there’s a fan film on the way entitled All Gone, courtesy of writer/director Alexandre Delol.

Starring French YouTuber Edward, the 15-minute short takes place within The Last Of Us universe as an original story, and will be released on September 24th on Edward’s channel. Ahead of that, however, we have the film’s official trailer.

Delol, a cinematographer by profession and director in his spare time, decided to make the leap with his fan film tribute after the release of The Last of Us Part II in 2020. “I loved the first TLOU,” explained Delol in an interview with French website Konbini. “When it came out in 2013, it inspired me to make a zombie short called ‘Way of Death’. With the arrival of Part 2 in 2020, I took a big step and I wanted to go even further: to pay tribute to the game with more means.”

The story for All Gone takes place during the events of The Last of Us, and centers on Nathan and his young Métis brother Sam, who have to survive a France that’s been overrun with the Cordyceps brain infection. Much like the game, the film explores the cycle of revenge, redemption and mourning. “Whether in the plot, the sets, the costumes, the accessories and the music, we tried as much as possible to get as close as possible to the original work, while remaining creative,” explains Delol.

Meanwhile, HBO dropped a teaser late last month for their adaptation, with the pilot episode being helmed by Kantemir Balagov (Beanpole), with Pedro Pascal (“The Mandalorian”) and Bella Ramsey (“Game of Thrones”) starring as Joel and Ellie, respectively. Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate), Storm ReidAnna TorvJeffrey Pierce, Nick Offerman, Merle Dandridge, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett and Con O’Neil will also star in the series.
