It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly two years since Frictional released Amnesia: Rebirth (which we loved). And if for whatever reason you still haven’t played the game, the Epic Games Store is giving you no excuse, as Rebirth is this week’s free game.
Available now until April 28th, you can grab Amnesia: Rebirth for free, alongside Cococucumber’s Riverbond. The horror doesn’t stop with Rebirth, as the following week, the decidedly over-the-top black humour sandbox game Just Die Already by DoubleMoose will be made free.
Also available on the PlayStation 4, Rebirth casts you as Tasi Trianon, who after a plane crash, must wander through desert caves and ancient tombs in order to find the whereabouts of her companions. As you might expect, along with solving puzzles, you must use light sources such as your lamp and matches to see clearly and find ways to progress. Keep in mind your fear, which will gradually build up in dark places and in the presence of monsters.
As for Just Die Already, the game is from the designers of Goat Simulator. Just Die Already puts you in the old shoes of an elderly person in a near future where people aren’t having any children. You’ve been kicked out of your old folks home, as there isn’t anyone to pay for pensions. The result is an over-the-top and gory game where you can go crazy doing things to your old person, including loss of limb and torso!
