After showing up at last year’s Game Awards, developer RED SOUL GAMES kicked off Gamescom 2023 with the announcement that their upcoming Survival Horror title Post Trauma now has a release window of Spring 2024 for consoles and PC via Steam. We also get a new trailer out of the reveal, echoing Survival Horror games of old with fixed camera angles and beautifully unsettling environments. The short-but-sweet trailer leaves plenty of unanswered questions, but that’s all part of the fun.
Post Trauma follows Roman, a middle-aged train conductor who finds himself trapped in a terrifying and twisted reality. Explore the unknown, solve mysteries, and try to survive the unspeakable horrors that lurk in these threatening surroundings. In a dimension where many things are left unexplained, Roman might need to resort to violence in order to survive the horrors that are in his way.
As mentioned, Post Trauma makes use of classic horror games mechanics with a modern twist, blending fixed camera angles with a truly modern presentation and control types, including optional tank controls. You’ll also be solving puzzles and riddles with the information you’ll gather exploring your surroundings to progress in the game and try to explain what is happening to you and the world around you. Keep a notepad handy.
And if you’re lucky enough to be at Gamescom, you’ll also be able to check out the updated Post Trauma demo.
