Diablo IV fans will have a busy October, thanks to the announcement that Blizzard will be kicking off the game’s second season on October 17th. Titled “Season of Blood”, this season focuses on slaying vampires in Sanctuary while harnessing their power for your own.
General manager of Diablo, Rod Fergusson, took to the stage last night with the announcement at Gamescom, accompanied by actress and producer Gemma Chan, who will be voicing Erys the Vampire Hunter in this seasonal update. Season of Blood will introduce a new Questline for you to uncover, Vampiric Powers to wield against their originators, five additional endgame bosses with the ability to target specific Unique and Uber Unique items as a drop, and more.
The update will also introduce further quality-of-life updates to Diablo IV:
- More efficient Inventory management for Gems.
- Paragon Points, Skill Points, Potion Charges, and Obol capacity upgrades will now carry over into a new Season once achieved with an Eternal or previous Seasonal Realm character.
- Changes to the functionality of status effects include Vulnerable, Overpower, Critical Strike Damage and Elemental Resistances.
- All updates in the above and the ability to target specific Unique and Ultra Unique items as a drop will be available in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms.
Currently, Diablo IV is in the midst of its first seasonal content in “Season of the Malignant”. Diablo IV is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
