A first-look teaser at “The Boys” spinoff series “Gen V” promised a bloody good time late last year but with no word on when to expect it. Now, thanks to producer Eric Kripke, we can expect school to begin this Fall.
Kripke amusingly tweeted, “AND SO IT BEGINS. #GenV coming Fall 2023. Website link below. (Trailer, premiere date, all of it being diligently worked on. It’ll be worth the wait. Hold onto your dicks & vaginas).”
The website Kripke refers to is for “Godolkin University,” a work-in-progress official site for the fictional Vought facility training emerging young superheroes. The site also reinforces Kripke’s announcement to expect the spinoff series this Fall. You can head over to Godolkin University for a brief tour now.
Based on the first look trailer and Kripke’s promises of “dicks & vaginas,” it’s safe to assume that “Gen V” will get just as viciously violent and funny as its parent series.
Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters are showrunners for “Gen V,” which is said to be “an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities.”
Amazon’s official description for the new spinoff series continues, “It’s part college show, part Hunger Games–with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”
Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert and Jason Ritter star, with guest appearances from Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles from “The Boys.”
Producers include Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg.
While we edge closer to a “Gen V” release date and subsequent marketing materials, here’s to hoping that news on “The Boys” Season 4, which recently wrapped production, follows soon.
