While Game Island and developer Toplitz Productions’ Serum didn’t make its “end of 2023” release target on Steam, the game is still very much alive. And with Steam Next Fest in full swing, you can check out the demo for the survival adventure title, which is now slated for a release later this year. In addition, the devs have released a brand-new trailer running down just why you should give Serum a shot (no pun intended).
The Next Fest demo gives players their first true hands-on experience of the game “as they embark on an exhilarating journey into the heart of darkness.” Challenging players in their quest for survival, Serum is driven by a unique game mechanic in the mysterious elixir (serum). Essential to your survival, the serum is a lifeline that has a curing effect of the Blight, a man-made catastrophic event that has left the world in ruin.
Not only can this vital liquid prolong your existence, it also has the effect of amplifying your abilities, and enhancing Serum‘s hand-crafted arsenal of weaponry. But time is of the essence, and the clock is ticking. You’ll need to craft different kinds of serum in order to survive in this world. That including battling dangerous mutated creatures, solve intriguing puzzles and ultimately escape the various dangers around you.
Serum can be wishlisted now on Steam.
