It’s been playing in theaters for a full month now and Jason Reitman‘s Ghostbusters: Afterlife is currently still in the #4 spot on the box office charts, pushed down just one spot from the previous week. To date, the sequel to the original classics has scared up $173,663,847 worldwide, making it possible that the film could hit $200 million before all is said and done.
When can you expect to watch it at home? Ghostbusters: Afterlife is coming to Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on February 1st, which means you can expect a Digital release next month.
No Special Features info is available at this time, but it’s worth noting that Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II and Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be getting a 3-film Gift Set on the same day. You’ll also be able to grab a standard Blu-ray set of those 3 movies. Neither set, it would seem, includes Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters (2016), which takes place in a different universe entirely.
Stay tuned for more info on these releases as we learn it.
“From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.”
The new film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.
