There’s a chill in the air. Autumn leaves are beginning to peek through the trees. Pumpkin spice lattes abound. If you’re lucky, though, you just might catch a glimpse of giant skeletons haunting a suburban lawn. That’s right, Halloween is upon us once again. But that chill in the air, perhaps a faint puff of visible breath when you speak, could also signal the presence of a spirit reminding us that it’s once again that time of fear. Yes, Ghostober returns to Travel Channel, Food Network, and discovery+ for frights every night all October long.
For those not in the loop, Ghostober 2022 is a multi-platform event and the unofficial start of the Halloween season, complete with everything you need to celebrate in style: from frightening tales of the macabre, to paranormal investigations that chill you to the bone, to jack o’lanterns carved with festive designs and freaky faces to light the way. Featuring acclaimed director Eli Roth, supernatural superstar Zak Bagans, Food Network’s Eddie Jackson, and paranormal investigator Jack Osborne, Ghostober unwraps new premieres all month long, guaranteed to leave you reaching for the light switch … as well as the candy corn.
Below, we’ve put together a guide to ensure you unwrap all the right treats and catch all the wildest tricks.
Ghost Adventures
On the next round of Ghost Adventures, paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley unravel the frightening truth behind a host of haunted locales. Each episode involves an investigation of previous sightings, including eyewitness accounts and local experts that give context to the investigation to come. Then the team submits to a dusk-till-dawn lockdown inside the terrifying locations, using high-tech gadgets and ghost hunting technology to capture evidence of the unquiet spirits lurking within. Among the nine new sights the team will visit — without spoiling too much — are the Lee Williams High School, the Roxie Theater, and the Los Feliz Murder House.
New episodes premiere on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and stream on discovery+.
Halloween Wars
What Halloween season would be complete without elaborately carved pumpkins and tasty treats? Host Eddie Jackson and judges Shinmin Li and Aarti Sequeira take nine teams of frighteningly talented cake, sugar, and pumpkin artists to the brink of culinary madness with a series of chilling challenges designed to test their mettle and rattle their bones. Paranormal investigator Zak Bagans returns with tasks inspired by some of the most frightening episodes of Ghost Adventures with missions that include haunted prison cells, witches burned at the stake, and a nightmarish island populated with creepy dolls. Only the bravest teams will survive and only the last chefs standing will win the Halloween Wars.
New episodes premiere on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network and stream on discovery+.
Ghost Adventures: Devil’s Den
In addition to the aforementioned brand new season, the Ghost Adventures crew will also take on their most terrifying location yet in Ghost Adventures: Devil’s Den. This time, Zak, Aaron, Jay, and Billy travel to Downey, California to investigate the infamous Los Padrinos Juvenile Detention Center, known to guards and inmates as — you guessed it — Devil’s Den. The team will interview survivors of the now-shuttered facility and lock themselves in to its frightening halls overnight. Will they be able to defend themselves against whatever still resides in the empty cells? Will the team become infected with the pervasive evil and oppressive negativity that earned the wing its disturbing namesake? You’ll have to join them behind bars to find out!
The two hour special event premieres Thursday, September 29th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and stream on discovery+.
Eli Roth Presents: My Possessed Pet
We trust the animals in our lives to give us companionship and unconditional love. But what happens when evil entities attempt to infiltrate the special bonds we share with our pets? Executive producer Eli Roth presents four terrifying tales of possession exploring the dark forces that endeavor to turn beloved pets against their terrified owners. These deeply personal stories include malevolent spiders, demonic dogs, haunted horses, and a moving exploration into the lengths some will go to save the souls of their animal companions. TL;DR? You’ll never look at your own pet the same way ever again.
New episodes begin Friday, September 30th at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and stream on discovery+.
Ghost Hunters
Original members of the TAPS team Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, and Dave Tango join Shari De Benedetti for eight new horror-filled episodes. From haunted farms to terrifying lighthouses, the team will bring their patented methods of paranormal investigation to recover evidence of the dead lurking among us. High-tech gadgets aide in collecting observable data that will definitively prove the existence of another realm. Along with a few special guests, they’ll attempt to communicate with those who haunt the boundaries between this world and beyond.
An all new season premieres Saturday, October 1st at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and stream on discovery+. Catch up on the past 13 seasons of the frightening series on discovery+!
