David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills is finally headed our way on October 15, and we’ve learned today that Ghost‘s brand new single will feature in the movie’s soundtrack.
“Hunter’s Moon” marks Ghost’s first new single in two years, arriving a week after tickets to their upcoming tour went on sale. The track’s release was accompanied by a cinematic music video, below, directed by Amanda Demme, with Ghost singer Tobias Forge making a sinister appearance at the end.
“Hunter’s Moon” will feature in the Halloween Kills end credits. Consequence of Sound reports of its inclusion, “Ghost’s musical contribution to the latest film in the Halloween franchise began when Ryan Turek, Vice President of Feature Film Development at Blumhouse Films, attended Ghost’s headlining 2018 show at The Forum in Los Angeles. Forge was invited to the Halloween Kills set, where he met with director David Gordon Green.”
The new single, produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace, will be released as a 7-inch vinyl single on January 21st, 2022, via Lorna Vista Recordings. The B-side will be Halloween composer John Carpenter’s “Halloween Kills (Main Title).”
Halloween Kills comes to theaters and Peacock on October 15.
