When we last left Ebb Software and their upcoming body horror adventure game Scorn, the plan was for the title to be released this year. We even had some gameplay footage to go along with it. Sadly, that still wasn’t enough, as Ebb Software has announced that the game is being delayed again into 2022.
In the latest Kickstarter update, the devs delve into the reasoning behind the delay, citing scope and the ambitious nature of the project. The team admits that development has been difficult, with everything that had been completed up until the middle of 2018 “has been reworked” with a large portion of it having been scrapped. “It’s about making it what we want it to be, not releasing it just because we gave some arbitrary release date. If it’s not ready, it’s not ready.”
The post goes on to say that Ebb Software will issue an official confirmation of the delay on December 10th. The delay was supposed to have been announced last month, but was not communicated due to “circumstances out of [their] control”.
Scorn is currently in development for PC via Steam and the Xbox Series.
