Jordan Peele‘s company Monkeypaw Productions scooped up a new horror movie pitch titled Goat a couple years back, and Deadline provides an update this afternoon.
Marlon Wayans will star in the sports-themed psychological horror tale from Monkeypaw and Universal, and the site also notes that Justin Tipping (Kicks) will direct the film.
Deadline previews, “The project, based on a pitch by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, centers on a promising young athlete who is invited to train with a team’s retiring star.”
Comedian/actor Marlon Wayans is known in the horror world for his role in the Scary Movie franchise, and he recently returned to horror in Netflix’s The Curse of Bridge Hollow.
Jordan Peele will produce the upcoming horror movie alongside Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, and Jamal Watson. Executive producers are David Kern and Kate Oh.
Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
Monkeypaw Productions is behind Peele’s films Get Out, Us and Nope, as well as Nia DaCosta’s Candyman, “The Twilight Zone” reboot and the HBO series “Lovecraft Country.”
