Marlon Wayans is set to star in horror movie Goat from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, and Deadline reports today that Tyriq Withers (“Atlanta”) has also signed on.
Justin Tipping (Kicks) will direct the sports-themed psychological horror tale for Monkeypaw and Universal, we had learned just last week. Read on for everything else we know.
Deadline previews, “The project, based on a pitch by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, centers on a promising young athlete who is invited to train with a team’s retiring star.”
Wayans will play the retiring star, with Withers as the young athlete.
Comedian/actor Marlon Wayans is known in the horror world for his role in the Scary Movie franchise, and he recently returned to horror in Netflix’s The Curse of Bridge Hollow.
Jordan Peele will produce the upcoming horror movie alongside Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, and Jamal Watson. Executive producers are David Kern and Kate Oh.
Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
Monkeypaw Productions is behind Peele’s films Get Out, Us and Nope, as well as Nia DaCosta’s Candyman, “The Twilight Zone” reboot and the HBO series “Lovecraft Country.”
