With Warhammer 40,000: Darktide arriving on November 30 for PC via Steam, developer Fatshark has decided to do a little celebrating for their Warhammer “Tide” series of games. As part of the 7th anniversary of the series, that involves giving away award-winning top-seller Warhammer: Vermintide 2 for free until November 7.
Leading up to the release of Darktide, Fatshark will host a series of activities and updates to celebrate the launch. This includes a copy of Vermintide 2, which will be free to grab on Steam until November 7 at 10 AM PT.
That’s not all that involves Vermintide 2. The game will also be getting free DLC on November 8 in the form of “Trail of Treachery”, a new snowy adventure mission, and part one of a two part series.
As for Darktide, Fatshark will start up pre-orders and play early starting November 17 as part of the pre-launch beta period. Also, any player that owns a copy of Vermintide or Vermintide 2 qualifies to receive the Devoted Rejects Pack , a Darktide cosmetic pack inspired by the Vermintide hero characters that can be redeemed on November 30th after jumping into Darktide.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide sees up to four players joining forces to take back the city of Tertium from hordes of bloodthirsty foes. In the depths of the hive, the seeds of corruption threaten to turn into an overwhelming tide of darkness. A mysterious and sinister new force is seeking to take control of the entire city. It is up to you and your allies in the Inquisition to root out the enemy before the city succumbs to Chaos.
