Get ready to howl at the moon, werewolf fans.
Where Wolf, the graphic novel from creative team Rob Saucedo, Debora Lancianese, and Jack Morelli, is celebrating its upcoming physical release with a Werewolves Across America tour that’ll screen a selection of werewolf films to coincide with book signings.
That includes a brand-new DCP for Silver Bullet that Paramount created for the tour!
Encylopocalypse Publication will release the graphic novel on July 7, 2023, in paperback and hardcover formats with three variant covers for readers to choose.
Leading up to the wide release of the graphic novel, writer Rob Saucedo will tour movie theaters across the country, screening werewolf films and providing an opportunity to purchase the graphic novel early at concurrent signing events starting March 31, 2023.
The selection includes Silver Bullet, An American Werewolf in London in 4K, The Howling in 4K, WolfCop and more. Additional locations will be added through the end of 2023.
Saucedo told Bloody Disgusting, “The piece of the tour I’m really excited about is the fact that Paramount is creating a brand-new DCP for Silver Bullet for the tour. Silver Bullet is one of my all-time favorite werewolf movies. I love the combination of Stephen King’s penchant for sunshine nostalgia with what I consider to be a great werewolf design by Carlo Rambaldi that builds on Bernie Wrightson’s original designs from Cycle of the Werewolf. The very first werewolf story I ever wrote was a three-page story in which Darkwing Duck fought the werewolf from Silver Bullet so this feels like it has all come full circle. I love the surprisingly reigned-in performance from Gary Busey, as well as great supporting roles from Everett McGill, Terry O’Quinn, and Lawrence Tierney. And let’s not forget the titular Silver Bullet itself, Corey Haim‘s badass motorized wheelchair. I’m really glad that this tour could put some good into the world and help facilitate the creation of a new DCP for this ’80s werewolf classic, that way theaters all over the world can show it on the big screen going forward.”
In Where Wolf, “Something scary stalks the streets of Texas, leaving a trail of corpses in its wake. The only person standing in its way is Larry Chaney, a slacker reporter who can’t hold a job, can’t keep a girlfriend, and can’t stop getting in the way of his own career. Larry must go undercover at a local furry convention if he has any hope of stopping the beast dead set on turning the gathered attendees into an all-you-can-eat buffet.”
This horror-comedy comic book was previously serialized as the first webcomic hosted on Fangoria.com and has already been optioned for film, podcast, and television development ahead of launch by producers James Fino (“The Freak Brothers” for Tubi, “Rick and Morty” for Adult Swim) and Charles Horak (First Date for Magnolia Pictures).
